Fan fic policies

Yeah, I don't know about a lot of y'all out there, but I'm getting a tad bit annoyed by this sudden explosion of fan fics into this forum. While there's really no better place for it (except maybe the "fan fic" tab on the home page), I still think they're cluttering up a forum dedicated to discuss the game, not a place for people to put up their stories. I'm just asking the members of TLR their thoughts on the matter, and proposing that a separate "fan fiction" forum be established so these stories can get out to the people and still recieve feedback. What do y'all think? --- VH16

Well, the Fanfic area was set up by eraser for those that passed muster and get posted, but, as this is the only suitable area for the time being, no harm done. It is getting people active in writing, which is good, and incurages ideas, which also is good. I don't see a problem with it myself. The only request I would have is the writers use word, wordperfect or someother word processor for spelling errors and then copy and paste to the threads.

I know what you mean Finalday, before you told me about this spell check my spelling was so atrocious some people stopped reading my Captured fanfic.

But maybe Outcast 1-1 could put this in the Site Suggestions and Feedback forum, there it might just get the job done. Just a thought

I don't think that there is anything wrong with all the stories here. I wrote one, and I sent it in to Eraser first, then posted it here. I think the stories are good also because they give people something to read and respond to if they have spare time and are browsing the forums. However, if a whole lot of people agree with VH, then I have no problem with a new section for these stories. For the meantime, I think everything should stay just as they are, and I personally think the the stories ADD to the forum, they don't detract or clutter it.

i'm going to agree with fd on this. Whilst i have no objection at all to having people post their fan fics in FL discussion, i certainly wouldn't object to a fan fic forum. If it encourages people to write it can only be a good thing. With Eraser setting up the fan fic section of the site, it will enable people to read them without the posts in between. But its the posts in between, especially when they are good, that make people want to write more and gives people the confidence to write. This can only be good for those who doubt their abilites

How did that happen? Sorry. Double post deleted!

Double post, Bret. While your coments are informing, I don't think it's worthy of being read a second time over. --- VH16
