Custom hardpoints

Custom hardpoints

Can anyone tell me how to make certain equipment take up no hardpoint - for example shields - like i wanted to make an upgrade - but instead of making a new hardpoint is there anyway i can get around it?

well i'm not sure i'm trying to get the same effect, so to speek. I think putting the entrys in [Armor might do it but when you want armor on a ship then it gets a bit frustrating.....

The simplest solution would be adding a hardpoint in hardcmp.

Open up the ships cmp
1. Look at the bottom right and click the new button.
2. In name scroll down and select HpShield
3. Set type to fixed
4. Cheak the box that says Use numbering scheme.

Yes, HardCMP is now the best way to add hardpoints
But the UTF Editor is still needed in some cases to correct errors that may arise from the use of HardCMP. It sometimes doubles the hardpoints it creates.
