three problems

ok, usually when i try to export a ship i go to hard cmp and see nothing. Also, how do i do shiparch? Its the only thing keeping me from making an awesome mod. Also, Is it just my computer, or does milkshape always crash if you have the cmp importer and exporter on?

Well,it crashed in my case,too.But only when closing it.

Chek your email,hope this helps,and information about shiparch has to be in editing tutorial forum,if you won't find it there,i'll tell you what I know(not much actually)

dint get no eeeeeemail, i got no eeeeeeeeemail!

BUT... i understand it mostly now. arg its a pain. how do you get the ship id?

If you're creating a mod and a new ship. You should know your IDS as you made it up.
Unless it is a copy of another mod.

k, i get it now, i was just looking at it i havent actually made anything in the game, whenever i try exporting it doesn't show up in hard cmp

Ok, ship needs 3 files to make it game:

.CMP: The Model
.MAT: The Textures
.SUR: The Hitbox/Shield Bubble so to say

Once you have these 3 files for your ship, you must add an entry to the following:

shiparch.ini: Defines what the ship can carry, how it flies, etc.
loadouts.ini: Defines what comes on the ship stock when you buy it.
market_ships.ini: Tells the game where the ship can be bought.

Lastly, you need to have added Ship Name and Info Card to the DLL files.

Best advice, pick a vanilla ship copy all of its info from the files, change the info to match your ship, place the new info into the correct files. There are countless tutorials for all of this. This is just a simple run down of how to do it. I would suggest reading some of the tutorials before attempting this in full.

Yep i understand all of that now. a pain for a guy making a mod by himself

but, still the bug or whatever in hardcmp. Maybe it's the size? i dont think so cus i messed around with the scroll so i am still clueless.

And the importer doesn't work at all. gah. i have (possibly) windows me... or xp.

i think its xp. its getting really annoying!
